Press Release, Paris 4 February 2021

We are very happy to announce that McCool Controls & Engineering, leading system integrators in Ireland, has

become an Actility Channel Partner and is now helping us and our subsidiary company, Abeeway, leading

provider of geolocation tracking solutions, spread even further by including us as their strategic partner and

allowing customers integrate our solutions in their IoT systems, acquiring turnkey and tailored solutions based

on LoRaWAN® technology.

McCool Controls & Engineering have been seeing a large demand for Smart Building technology as the nature

of work changes. Customers require solutions to manage their space, people and assets efficiently, precisely

and safely. This partnership provides McCool Controls with complete solutions for gathering and sharing

precision data in a cost effective and reliable manner to feed into McCool Control’s overall Smart Building

solutions. The excellent products offer Open API connectivity which make them ideal for burgeoning Smart

Buildings and Industry 4.0 markets.

Through this partnership, McCool Controls intends to support companies as a system integrator, by offering

them the opportunity to analyze and transform raw data into IoT insights to optimize any industrial processes

through a powerful, flexible and scalable IoT platform offered by Actility, underpinning the company’s digital

transformation journey. This being applicable to any enterprise IoT use case and due to Actility’s ThingPark

Platform, which allows to deploy, operate and maintain public and private wireless IoT networks, and

Abeeway’s turnkey products.

Facilities Management companies face growing pressure to improve their estate efficiency, ensure operational

continuity, and integrate legacy buildings and their systems with new facilities expansions. IoT offers alternative

mechanisms to make buildings more sustainable and productive. Simple, low-cost sensor devices provide

valuable real-time contextualized data: this is a connected building. Actility & McCools enable building

management companies to deliver various services using a common IoT enabler platform, providing

LoRaWAN® network server and software to manage public city-owned or private networks, under a unified,

scalable, multipurpose IoT network infrastructure.

LoRaWAN® is a low power wireless protocol for wide area networks. With LoRaWAN®, devices can

communicate with IoT applications over long-range wireless connections. It also allows for devices’ batteries

to last longer, therefore significantly lowering the Total Cost of Ownership. Actility already powers more than

50 telecoms operators with LoRaWan® connectivity across the globe. Its enterprise-grade LoRaWAN® network

server – ThingPark Enterprise – operates over 35 000 network base stations worldwide. In additional to its

international reach, Actility also brings to the partnership its Abeeway tracking devices that work both indoors

and outdoors thanks to their multi- technology geolocation system, integrating GPS, Abeeway’s patented Low-

power GPS, WiFi Sniffing and Bluetooth Low Energy.
